Introduction
This is the B Course BGM from SEGA’s Power Drift. Since my college entry exams were over and I had free time, I wanted to make this.
Power Drift’s percussion is so cool I ended up obssessing over it to death. I hope you all give it a good listen.

Program
In order to make the melody resonate, I combined both instrument @4 (Clarinet) and the PSG for it. That way, it makes a square wave-like sound. Chords use 3 channels, the bass uses 1 channel, and percussion plays the bass drums and hi-hats through the MML rhythm channels, and the snare drums and tom-toms through the PSG.
The FM PAC’s snare and tom-tom are a bit on the weaker side, and no matter what I did they didn’t sound cool at all.
Also, the overall tempo sound a bit (a lot?) too fast, so please forgive me for that.

Caution
The FM PAC’s audio must absoultely be internal. Otherwise, the FM PAC and the PSG’s sound balance will not match. This probably depends on your model, but on the HB-F1XD the balance isn’t right if the sound isn’t internal.

Program Modding
This track pretty much is made to end, but if you want it to repeat indefinitely, remove the apostrophe (REM symbol) from line 10260.

Conclusion
A lot of people may think “the tempo’s too fast!”, but if you make it any slower it gets thrown out of balance. Man, after listening to it 10 times I think you get used to it, so listen to it earnestly. So long.

Commentary from GORRY
After last month’s X1 entry, it seems like this song also made it to MSX. This program did well in making up for the hardware difference. You won’t be disappointed at typing this one in, I feel!
In the meantime, here’s a report on VGM Complete Works Collection IV: the number of tracks seems to be huge (about double as many as III’s), so we’ll have to separate all of that into many volumes. The MSX’s been getting so many passionate contributions we’ll be able to dedicate an entire volume to it at this rate.
Do especially anticipate this one!
