Loading the Game –
Load the .cas file onto the machine;
Type ‘LOAD “PYON”‘ then press Enter to load the game;
After the game loads, type ‘RUN’ then press Enter to run the game.
Game Instructions –
The game takes about 25 minutes to load until you can start it with Enter. you start at the top, and can move diagonally with the 4512 keys of the numpad.
3 kinds of enemies exist; the first one resembles a diamond and can be jumped on for 100 points, but it can also jump on you; the second one has square eyes and can kill you on any kind of contact; the third and final one is a blinking asterisk that appears in the lower-right corner every even round, and jumping on it while it’s visible kills you.
Avoid the enemies and step on all 15 boxes. Your score decreses if you stay still.
The bonus for completing stages is 200 for the first, 300 for the second, etc.; additionally, you get some more points depending on the height of the last box to be jumped on.
Also, clearing stages 1,4,9,19 or 29 nets you an extra life.
This game was based on an arcade game whose name the author cannot remember, but was almost certainly Q-Bert (Gottlieb).
The sound effects on the game were made using Spy Daisakusen (Pony Canyon) as a base.
