Personal Comment Section:

I don’t know if I should thank Canada or America for their progress, but both INS negotiations and START have become somewhat official. I thought it wouldn’t go beyond discussions like SALT, but apparently the official talks regarding arms reduction in Moscow are proceeding. That’s rather difficult.

This “Missile & Missile” gives you the feeling of missile attacks. It would be amazing if we could have missile battles like this.

Game Explanation:

This game uses missiles that split into parts. It’s a destructive game where you launch missiles and crash into ground bases.

Note: The amount of enemy missiles is based on actual ratios (?)

Control Keys: [4]…Move missile to the left [6]…Move missile to the right

How to Play: Use the 4 and 6 keys to control V (your missile) and destroy the ground bases. Make sure you don’t hit the middle.

You cannot destroy all of them at once. Points are 50 per base, and clearing all bases gives a screen clear bonus of 500 points.

If your missile V hits an enemy missile ♣ or falls outside the true middle of the enemy base, your missile will self-destruct.

Program Explanation:

Variable List: X, Y…Missile coordinates HX…Direction the missile will move

CO…Number of destroyed bases LE…Number of remaining missiles H…Contains $HF302 used for PEEK and POKE HS…High score SC…Score PE…Ask number of missile movement mechanism

Program Explanation: 100-220 Initial settings 230-250 Main routine 260-300 Missile movement 310-370 Enemy missiles 380-400 Judgment 410-470 Missile explosion 480-510 Base destruction 550-630 Screen clear 640-690 Game over 700-960 Demo screen

Checkpoint: As you can see in the variable list, at line 160 you can increase the number of your missiles by making LE larger.

The article goes on to explain a missile-based game with some political commentary at the beginning referencing arms reduction treaties like INS, START, and SALT negotiations between the US and Soviet Union. The game appears to be a missile command style game where you destroy enemy bases while avoiding hitting enemy missiles or missing your targets.
