SUPER JANKEN
Introduction
This is a version of Rock-Paper-Scissors with the addition of a Joker and 4 different choices. Now you have to choose between “Human”, “Bird”, “Cat” and “Octopus”, whose strengths and weaknesses constantly change.
How to Play
The messages at the bottom of the screen tell you how to control the game. After the title theme plays, you’ll be asked to set the number of players (up to 2) and enter their names (up to 8 characters). In 1-player mode, you’ll be playing against your MSX.
To finish entering a name with less than 8 characters, press the RETURN key. If you make a mistake, you can restart the prompt with the CLS key.
Afterwards, decide the number of rounds you want to play, and after that the actual game starts! First, each person chooses their move. Then, the Human, Bird, Cat and Octopus will start to rotate rapidly. Press the space key to slow down the rotation, and after it stops, the game is decided.
Landing on the JOKER gives you 30 points unconditinally, while other spaces give or take 10 points depending on their relative O-X pairings.
Since the two players must pick different choices, the last player will be at a slight disadvantage.
In 2-player mode, it’s recommended for the last player to be the one to press the space key.
Typing In
Since some of the character data is rewritten, some katakana characters will not be displayed correctly. If you can’t read the listing properly because of this, simply execute ‘SCREEN 1’ by itself.
