Extra Information –

“Silpheed☆ here. For this month’s issue, I bring you Cotton. Up until now, only stage 1 and the ending have been pusblished, so I’ve covered stages 2 and 3 here. This is for the ’88, and no PCM is used.”

“Cotton’s music seems to only use 6 FM channels, and the drums don’t have any peculiar sounds to them, so they weren’t hard to replicate. The soundtrack is solid, but not very flashy, which might be the reason why no one covers them. With that being said, if you want to convert these to YM2203, you might have a hard time figuring out which parts to convert to SSG. I didn’t do anything special, but tried to get the instruments as close to the originals as possible. I also put the attack for the tracks at 32 units. The MML itself is quite short, but the instrument definitions ended up taking a lot of space. This is because Pikkeru-kun forces you to set up every single instrument in full detail, so there’s nothing I could do about that…”

“I’ve recently played Alpine Racer, Point Blank, Tokimeki Memorial (laugh)… and Namco’s Tales of Phantasia, sort of. I haven’t actually played a second of Tales, but I’ve already managed to get a score for the opening (laugh). See you next month!”
