While some of these games are infringing due to being hacks or using stolen IP, others are completely original works. It’s funny how Adam & Even (part of the Caltron 6 in 1) is considered “unlicensed” when released in the West on the Caltron cartridge but is considered a bootleg when released in its original form on Famicom. Similar with Micro Machines just being unlicensed, but the Famicom release is somehow a bootleg just because it was released in….Asia, South America, and Central / Eastern Europe. Tons of cringe in the terminology used here, just promulgates the idea that any Asian works outside of Japan are somehow inferior and illegal, despite about half of the images above being independent and non-infringing.
