I don't remember if that was before or after revision. I remember when
I saw the scene I mentioned it to Neil and suggested he should really
tone it down. Don't know if this is the toned down one or not.
Yes, it's not nearly as out there as TOP.

it might have been toned down in a later script, but this is the
original 1.0 script. every patch release after that was done by
darkforce alone. after the 1.0 patc release i ceased to give a shit for
quite a long time. |

No, but what you can
do is steer clearly towards the middle of the road where the majority
of people are. It's like a bell curve - there's no sense in trying to
work the outliers into your equation all the time. |

you can do what you'd like to your own project. if other people don't
like the route you've taken, they can shut the hell up or work on their
own.
of
course, most of the time they'll just bitch and complain and moan about
how your work sucks and how they'd do such a better job, while never
actually doing a damn thing about it.

if
it isn't fun, don't do it, and don't sacrifice your enjoyment of a game
for someone else's quirks. if you'd rather play a localization than a
transliteration, than don't make a transliteration. |

I'm expecting Chris and Sky Render to re-translate Der Langrisser in 2008.
Certainly somewhere within the script I mistranslated "'tataku' as fight instead of 'strike'"

I'm working on this for most of today (Sunday), but I just wanted to
quickly ask, does anyone know what the first CD based language patch
would be for? The first CD based game to get a fan translation would be
quite a landmark event, even if the translation/game itself is without
merit. Actually, I could do with a few listed examples of CD patched
games, since I can't think of too many apart from Russian FF patches
and that one someone did for Winning 11.
Btw, I dunno about else, but I'm really psyched about this article. 
Probably
the most fun I've had in ages doing work, and I think it's looking
great so far. Assuming we don't run out of budget, I should be getting
my commission papers within the next few days. |

Thanks... Also, oops! I forgot to use the search menus on the front page. Sorry about that. 
I see there's quite a few PS1 translations actually. Cotton seems to be the earliest.
I
assume ROMhacking.net will allow me to use the various screenshots
dotted around the site? I will of course credit you guys fully for all
the help given, especially since it saves me the huge hassle of taking
screen grabs.
EDIT: Looking at the work that's been done,
and the increase in japanese companies localising their games for the
West, it would seem that the fan translation community has in some way
given the industry a kick in the pants to get motivated? |
